APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Centre)
In May 2016, we worked with APNIC at a conference in Cedar Creek, Mt Tamborine to deliver a 1.5 hour training in coding to non-technical support staff. APNIC is a not-for-profit Regional Internet address Registry for the Asia Pacific region and provides number resource allocation and registration services that support the global operation of the Internet. Having their non-technical support staff understand more about coding therefore made sense.
Training topics included in the session included exploring the history of code, giving the attendees an introduction to HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), such as how to locate and view the source code of a web page, how to write and read basic HTML code, how to locate code you want to amend right through to best practices in coding and an introduction to https://foswiki.org/About/WebHome.
