
James Cook University
James Cook University in Townsville, Queensland is ranked in the top 2% of universities in the Academic Ranking of World Universities. We were requested by the marketing team to complete an initial audit of all social media channels the University. The comprehensive audit report included sections on THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN HIGHER EDUCATION, the current situation and our observations + recommendations of how the University’s various social channels should be improved moving forwards. We then provided a full day social media strategy session to x12 staff from the University in person, with some staff patching in online from the Cairns campus. Through the process we identified that the University were choosing to allocate a social network per staff member to take care of, with some staff members not having any prior training. We discussed alternative methods of divvying up the work which would ensure a more cohesive approach to the production and scheduling of content.
